Health as Human Capital
The Health as Human Capital paradigm recognizes health as a personal asset, owned by each of us. Health encompasses everything that allows us to accomplish our goals and enjoy our lives. Health is not a medical concept, limited to the absence of disease, but instead a holistic set of social, physical, mental and economic components.
Building human capital means investing in health, skills, and motivation. In the health as human capital paradigm, promoting health includes enhancing skills and education, providing well-paying jobs, or investing in other needs
